READ ALL ABOUT IT!
A housing official was jailed Friday after smuggling a baby into Britain in order to get a council flat!
Peace Sandberg, 40, flew to her native Nigeria where police believe she bought a baby for as little as £150 in order to qualify for priority housing.
She had been evicted from a flat in Acton, West London, after her daughter, who is now 14, returned to live with her father in Sweden.
The divorcee, who gained the right to live and work in the UK through her Swedish husband Kenneth, then came up with the scheme to smuggle in the three-month-old boy in November 2006 and pretend he was her own.
Within hours of landing at Heathrow Airport she took the baby to Ealing Council’s homeless housing office. As a housing worker herself, she knew that women with children are given priority on council accommodation lists.
An NHS hospital is handing over new mothers’ placentas for use in the development of anti-wrinkle skin creams and luxury shampoo!
The trade, which brought in £5,000 for Poole Hospital in Dorset last year.
One woman, 39-year-old Donna Norman, told of her outrage when she realised that, following the arrival of her daughter Milly, the afterbirth was given to a biochemical company.
“I was under the impression that my placenta would only be used for vital medical research - not that it may help make some skin cream or shampoo,” she said.
“I feel violated by what I have been through. It feels like they stole it because it was all done on false pretences. It’s from my body.
“It’s my DNA and I feel like they tricked it from me.”
An Afghan involved in the Stansted hijacking was found to be working at Heathrow as a cleaner!
Police arrested Nazamuddin Mohammidy at Terminal 5 where he showed his British Airways pass allowing him access to secure areas.
Mohammidy, 34, was one of nine Afghans who won the right to live in Britain after hijacking a passenger flight in Afghanistan in 2000. The Boeing 727 was flown to Stansted in Essex where the captors threatened to kill the 160 passengers unless they were granted asylum.
The gang was jailed but later released and given the right to remain in Britain rent-free, receiving £150,000 a year in benefits.
Now for something amusing from the USA.
A van loaded with suspected illegal immigrants picked the wrong driveway to pull into earlier this week in Oklahoma.
The van, loaded with 17 men, two women, and one boy, pulled into the driveway of the rural home owned by Webbers Falls Police Chief Tim Brown on Tuesday.
When Brown went out to investigate, he determined the group was in the country illegally.
He detained them until they could be transported to the Muskogee County Jail.
From there, they will be picked up and transferred to the Tulsa County Jail by Tulsa County Sheriff’s deputies under an agreement with the Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency

Hundreds of illegal immigrants were arrested in a nationwide roundup in Italy yesterday, with dozens immediately deported.
The operation followed rising anxiety in Italy over the scale of illegal immigration, with tempers flaring in Naples where vigilantes set alight a Roma gipsy camp.
Silvio Berlusconi was elected to a third term as prime minister last week after promising to crack down on illegal immigrants who are blamed by many Italians for a rising crime rate.
In a massive police operation yesterday, police raided addresses stretching from Milan and Turin in the north, down to Rome and as far south as Naples.
A total of 268 foreigners were arrested, all illegal immigrants, according to Italian police who carried out the raids with the help of Romanian officers.
Most of the arrested were held for further checks and possible charges over crimes.
But 53 were immediately booted out after being put on planes to their home countries or taken to land borders.
Police said the raids were part of a crackdown on thefts, break-ins, drug dealing and prostitution which have jumped in recent months.
Those arrested came from Eastern Europe, Greece, North Africa and China.
The policeman in charge of the operation, Francesco Gratteri, told reporters that the sweep “wasn’t aimed at any specific category or ethnic group. The sole objective were criminals who have caused a sensation of rising alarm in society”.
He added: “If we can put a halt to this then we can stop crime snowballing out of control.”
A lot of Italian concern focuses on “nomads” – the term they give to Roma gipsies, mainly from Romania and other Eastern European countries.
In Rome, police raided the biggest Roma camp and took away around 50 men for questioning. The arrests came during a visit by Cristian David, Interior Minister of Romania whose prime minister warned earlier this week that Italy’s crackdown could cause “xenophobia” against other Romanians.
The arrests came as a survey published by Italian newspaper La Repubblica said 75 per cent of Italians thought “nomads” were “a problem”.
Those questioned said the best way to deal with the problem was to “clear out gipsy camps and expel those found there”.
Illegal Roma camps in Naples had to be evacuated by police this week after locals, angry at an suspected baby-snatching incident involving a 17-year-old Roma girl, set fire to their shacks after marching on the camps carrying banners and shouting: “You are all baby snatchers.”
The incident sparked warnings of “do-it-yourself justice”, with Rome’s chief policeman Carlo Mosca saying such behaviour was unacceptable and adding: “Foreigners are not the enemy.”
But Milan’s conservative deputy mayor, Riccardo de Corato, said the problem was “Italy has 700,000 illegal immigrants but carried out about 1,500 expulsions in 2007.
“The numbers speak for themselves.
“People who want to work are welcome in Milan, but if you want to beg, go and do it in Bucharest.”
Umberto Bossi, Reform Minister and leader of Italy’s anti-immigrant Northern League party, praised the police raids.
He said: “This dragnet is a positive move and what the people want. People want security and we have to give it to them.”
He said of the events in Naples: “People do what the political class can’t manage.”
Interior minister Roberto Maroni, also from the Northern League, is rushing out emergency laws to bring back passport checks on Italy’s EU borders.

Hypocrites!
The Government’s so called measures to save the environment like fining people for not recycling their rubbish, increasing road tax on environmentally unfriendly cars , congestion charges and road use charging are just stealth taxes . If they really wanted to save our environment they would stop Chichester District Council from allowing an oil company to destroy ancient woodlands!
Despite calls from the Woodland Trust, West Sussex’s own Landscape Officer and Ecologist, Chichester District Council, the South Downs Joint Committee and local conservationists and community, the County Council has given the go ahead to oil exploration which will destroy one hectare of ancient woodland and wildlife, but could potentially affect vast amounts of the South Downs AONB.
Alice Farr of the Woodland Trust said: “Markwells Wood is eleven hectares of ancient woodland within the beautiful Sussex Downs AONB. West Sussex County Council has given the go ahead for the initial destruction of a hectare of ancient woodland, the richest habitat for species in the UK, the UK’s equivalent of rainforests. The complex undisturbed soils are irreplaceable and once destroyed, are lost forever. This is a worrying example of local government putting the search for money before safeguarding irreplaceable natural heritage.”
Alice continues: “Now is the time to move away from fossil fuels and put our efforts into the search for renewable energy. Climate change is the greatest long term threat to ancient woodland and this decision flies in the face of that.”
The Woodland Trust feels the most worrying factor is that this could only be the start of continued destruction of this ancient site and the surrounding Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. If we continue to disregard our green spaces there will come a time when there is none left for future generations to learn from and enjoy.
Ancient woodland is probably the most complex of all habitats and the most reliant on undisturbed conditions for its survival, so it is misleading to say that any aftercare will make right what has been destroyed. The environmental statement completely ignores the biodiversity value of the undisturbed soils found in ancient woodland which are vital to ancient woodland’s biodiversity. It inappropriately suggests that the site can be restored through storing of the soils that will be removed, during the construction of the proposal, and then replaced to allow re-establishment of vegetation through natural regeneration and replanting.
Ancient woods are our richest habitat for wildlife, including more rare and threatened species than any other UK habitat. They are places of inordinate beauty, reservoirs of evidence for environmental change, archaeology and economic history, and a source of inspiration for local culture and folklore. Our resource of ancient woodland is finite and cannot increase, so what remains is precious and irreplaceable.

One of the Vikings’ most important trading centres has been discovered in Ireland.
The settlement at Woodstown in County Waterford is estimated to be about 1,200 years old.
It was discovered during archaeological excavations for a road by-pass for Waterford city, which was founded by the Vikings.
Almost 6,000 artefacts and a Viking chieftain’s grave have been discovered at the site, which was established by the year 860. The grave contains a sword, shield and silver mark.
The working group report said the discoveries of silver and lead weights showed it was “apparent that Woodstown falls firmly into the Scandinavian tradition.”
“There can be little doubt that many, if not all of the settlement’s occupants were either Scandinavian, or had strong insular Scandinavian associations,” it said.

Tens of thousands of illegal immigrants were knowingly given National Insurance numbers over the past decade!
The Department for Work and Pensions handed over the prized number - vital for securing a job - to any illegal immigrant so long as they had a partner who was a British citizen.
Despite the authorities having the illegal immigrant’s full name and address, they gave them an NI number rather than tracking them down and deporting them.

Calling the people of Crewe and Nantwich you have a by-election on May 22, caused by the death of Labour MP Gwyneth Dunwoody, now is your chance to show politicians what you think of them.
At the last two elections there was a 60% turnout which meant 28,990 people didn’t vote.
Considering Gwyneth Dunwoody won it with 21,240 votes, in 2005, this means if the non-voters all voted for a candidate such as Gemma Garrett, the 26-year-old current Miss Great Britain who is standing under the banner of a newly created party, Beauties For Britain, she could get in.
Gemma says she knows nothing about politics, so she will fit in nicely at Parliament.

Dozens of illegal immigrants have been found working with patients in National Heath Service hospitals!
Last year alone, 40 unlawful migrants – including a doctor, nurses, physiotherapists and healthcare assistants – were discovered on the payroll of the NHS.
The doctor, a poorly qualified woman from Sierra Leone, was a trainee haematologist at Bath Royal United Hospital NHS Trust.
The illegal workers possessed forged passports and references to bypass NHS employment checks.
When they were finally uncovered by NHS officials and reported to the Home Office for possible deportation, most disappeared.
The British Government department charged with helping some of the poorest people around the world is letting its civil servants cream off thousands of pounds for personal use in a bizarre luxury travel expenses deal!
In an extraordinary – but not illegal – arrangement, hundreds of civil servants and their partners sent outside Europe can claim the cost of very expensive business-class flights – but then travel economy and keep the difference for private flights.
Instead of the savings – which can be thousands of pounds per trip – being returned to the taxpayer, the cash can be ploughed into a personal ‘travel fund’ and then used to pay for that employee’s private trips.
Ecstasy and cocaine worth an estimated £260,000 have been found hidden in a vehicle at a ferry port in Kent.
A 24-year-old Lithuanian man has been charged with attempting to smuggle drugs into the UK!
A Lithuanian registered car arrived at Dover’s Eastern Docks on Thursday, on a ship from Calais in France.
During a search of the vehicle, UK Border Agency (UKBA) officers discovered about 12kg (26.4lb) of ecstasy and 0.5kg (1.1lb) of cocaine.

More evidence that migrants are brought in to be used as slave labour rather than take jobs indigenous people cannot be bothered to take.
An investigation into a man who supplied Polish workers to an Angus flower-picking firm has found that the staff were forced to live in “abhorrent” conditions by a “sinister” gangmaster who threatened them and their families for cash. Jonathon Beckson has had his Gangmaster license revoked and is now being probed by police.
Grampian Growers, where Migrant workers were given jobs picking flowers, does not directly hire its staff, it uses a so-called Gangmaster, in this case a man called Jonathon Beckson who runs a firm called Timberland Homes. After complaints by some of those employed there, he was investigated by the Gangmaster Licensing Authority - and they describe what they found as “another world” full of intimidation and misery - unbelievable in 21st Century
Jonathon Beckson is a Gangmaster whose job is to find workers to pick crops for farms around Britain. His home in Suffolk has access barred by gates, and a guard outside. He forced the migrant workers in his employ at Montrose to live in desperate conditions, cramped and with not enough beds for everyone. Dirty, in conditions described by those who found them as “abhorrent” and dangerous - with a water heater held together only by tape.

…………….more people want to get on.
Do you remember those days when the bus conductor asked passengers to move along the bus to allow more people to get on the bus?
Then they would call out “standing room only!”
Well, our country seems to be entering the standing room only phase.
England’s population is now 50 million, but by 2056 it will be 68 million – or 1,349 for every square mile.
At present there are 1,010 per square mile.
In London, the population density will jump from 12,377 people per square mile to 13,910 over 20 years.
The population density in England is already almost double the level in Germany and quadruple that in France.
London aside, the biggest rises will be in the East and South West of England, up 16 per cent by 2029, while the population of the North East is expected to remain static.
About 1.3 million immigrants have arrived in the past decade.
